Martha Stewart Inspiration

So as you know, I get the Martha Stewart Darcy's Wedding Idea of the Day. Its pretty fabulous and gives ideas on everything from table decor to flowers.

This past week they sent out a darling idea for cakes.


Now, maybe I loved it so much since we just celebrated the 4th, but doesn't this look like a fantastic cake for a summer wedding?! It would also be a great way to save a little bit on your cake - doing fresh fruit on it instead of an extravagant designs or toppers.

June events at BleuBelle Bridal!

So its been just about forever since I last posted anything! Sorry!!!!

The sample sale went well. We had lots of brides find their dress. Always, exciting. The sale on party dresses went really well too. A lot of ladies attending deb parties this summer will be wearing gowns from BleuBelle Bridal!

So - there are some new and exciting events happening this month. The first is that we are discounting all current Carolina Herrera samples 40% off. Now, this is only for the gowns in store not special orders.


The dress in the top right corner is shown with black lace however, we have it in ivory lace. All of the dresses are sampled in size 10 but can be taken in (as much as needed) or let out (about a size or so).

The other event is that we are discounting already marked down sample gowns another 10%! There are many beautiful Reem Acras, Vera Wangs, and Manuel Motas on our sample rack. Here are a few!

Whats new at BleuBelle Bridal!

Hello friend!

It has just been waaaay to long since I've given you insight into the BleuBelle world. We are humming right along with weddings. The 30th will be a busy day for us! June is surprisingly busy for weddings in Savannah. Most of our brides stay away from that time of year because of how hot it gets!

We have two fabulous interns from the Savannah Country Day School, Katherine and Kate. They have been such a great help! We have put them to work, getting things ready for the sample sale!

Speaking of the sample sale ... it is just around the corner. 4 DAYS!!!!! We are just so excited for it! Already, we have had a few ladies stop by and take a sneak peak. So, get ready. Call your girlfriends and plan a trip to the Sample Sale. The doors open at 10 am THIS Saturday, May 23rd.

Summer Happenings!

Bonjour!

I have some very exciting news for you! We have two very exciting summer events just put on the calendar.

First is our Summer Sample Sale!!!! As you may have heard, this is not your average sale. We discount our gowns 30 - 80% off! We have had brides who spent $500 on $5,000 dresses. So, if you are in town June 20th you have to stop by. It will be worth your while. Doors open at 10 a.m. I highly recommend coming early to get the best selection.

Second is a Melissa Sweet Trunk Show. The show will feature the Spring 2010 collection (which doesn't even debut until April). The show will be from July 9-11. There will be a 10% token of appreciation on all Melissa Sweet orders placed during the show. I will be sure to put up some pictures once market happens!!!! I highly recommend appointments during the trunk show to ensure the best service.

Looking for your oppinions!

Bridal market is coming up soon and I have been thinking about all of the designers who are out there. I would love to know what designers- from gowns to shoes to veils- you like! I've been looking at Lea-Ann Belter. Her designs are kind of simplistic, but I love her lace work!

So....what I would love for you to do - make your comments and suggestions. Tell me who it is that you are loving and maybe what it is that you like about them. I can't wait to hear your thoughts!!!!

Bridal Portrait

I always have brides asking me if they should do a bridal portrait. I really think that it can be a nice thing to do. You only have pictures once the wedding is over, so it would make sense to get as many as you can. Not all bridal portraits have to be in a studio. I have had many brides do their portrait outside - in a square or at the beach. I recommend doing something that matches your personality!

Last week I was able to be a part of one of our bride's, Michelle, portrait. She did hers in the studio of Daly and Salter Photography downtown in Savannah. I took a few pictures because it was just fantastic! Steve, the photog, was great with direction and making Michelle feel comfortable. His assistant Tina also helped direct Michelle in some untratitional poses. It was great!

I'll be sure to put up some pictures after her wedding :)

New Jim Hjelm Maids Coming!!!!

In about 6 weeks we will be receiving a few new Jim Hjelm maids styles!!!! They are absolutely beautiful. I have always loved Jim Hjelm and these dresses are just about the sweetest things ever.

We will be getting her in "Rose", a soft light pink

V-neck a-line dress with pockets!!!!

A-line full length gown with empire bodice and ruffle detail at back.

Inspired by the Oscars

I know its been a few days since the Oscars and our attention has not moved to other things ... but I did want to write a little about the red carpet gowns and how you can translate them into your wedding style!

If you noticed, there was a lot of nostalgic 50's looks. I think that has something to do with the comfort that we feel when we think of the 50's. We think of the Cleavers, perfect June in her darling house dress making cookies and Ward coming home from a long day of work and the boys, Beaver and Wally, getting into a bit of mischief. The perfect atomic family. Its makes you feel a little fuzzy inside.

Any who ... I found a few dresses by our designers that can give you that 50's inspired look!

This Vera gown is very similar to the silhouette of Sarah Jessica Parker's Christian Dior gown. The banding in the skirt is a nice subtle detail. The Vera has organza flower appliques on the bodice and a mikado ribbon to add detail.

The top right is a Melissa Sweet gown that has some beautiful draping detail on the bodice, much like Natalie Portman's gown. The bottom left photo is of a Nicole Miller gown that has pretty draping at the bust with an embellished band that peeks from under the chiffon. This style is such a classic. A soft column dress with intricate draping - perfect for any movie star or bride!!!!

Let them eat cake!

Hello, hello, hello!

I recieve the Wedding Idea of the Day from Martha Stewart Weddings. There are just so many neat ideas for everything from invites to favors. Today I was pleased to open up this one about cake! And not just any cake, peach cake! How suiting for a southern wedding?!

I also really love the design of this cake. The gradient of pinkish peachy hues is so feminine and sweet! The simple texture of this cake reminds me of the paper fans I use to fold when I was a little girl.

If you love this cake, I'm sure Mrs. Minette Rushing could make it for you. If its not the one quite for you, you should still stop by her shop to taste and talk cakes. She is the best!

Exciting Vera Update!

I know you may be getting tired of these Vera updates, especially if you already have your gown, but this is quite exciting/important information!

A few pictures of Paige

I just got a few images from a lovely bride, Paige. She was so lucky to find her Reem Acra gown during our Summer Sample Sale. Enjoy the photos!!!!

I loved her gown. It was beaded with pearls and has an under layer of alencon lace.

Aren't they so sweet! I love her bouquet and the boutonniere. Gerber daisys are so sweet.

The color pallet for the wedding was fantastic. I love the rich reds and yellows. Great fall colors.

It can be really nice when the maids dress has a hint of styling like the bride's gown. It doesn't need to be much. Like in the picture above, just the v-neck can be a great look to go with the bridal gown.

A Little Bit of This and That

I just wanted to thank all of the lovely ladies who came by for the book signing with Tara Guerard! One of the best brides a girl could ask for, Blythe, was at the store with her book even before Tara got there! ( Sorry we didn't get to chat darlin - I miss talking to you)

Pretty Wedding

So I was poking around Martha Stewart Weddings.com and found this amazing wedding. Not only is it really beautiful (color pallet, photos, flowers, everything ...) but the bride just happens to be wearing Vera! She is wearing Le Notra, a Luxe gown, and a Tacori headpiece!

Le Notra is an organza gown with hand placed alencon lace and small spagetti straps

After I realized it was Le Notra I kept clicking through the images and then I saw what she did for the reception ... genius!!!!!

I absolutely love the flower accent she added to the left strap. I always love it when brides want to switch things up and add different touches to their dress. I just think it is a great way to make a change to your look without wearing a different dress.

Vera Barbie

So I happened to pop onto Vera's website this morning and look what I saw!Now you can have your wedding gown (if you happened to get Vera's gown "Audrey") in miniature Barbie size! I am so thrilled about this. I was the girl who had boxes of Barbies and houses and cars and any other thing you can even imagine!

Seeing as this was my #1 favorite dress my first year at Bridal, I kind of really want her. I love the Audrey gown but I think maybe I could appreciate her better on my desk? Any who, I had to share this with you! I will now again plug the Vera Trunk Show. February 12-14. Call for an appointment (912.355.2502).
