Spring Bridal ideas

Fall has surely come in Savannah. You can tell because at night it will get into the sixties but up in the eighties during the day! Every now and then it will stay cooler during the day, but usually that sun keeps you very warm as you walk down Broughton.

Well, with fall here that means we are getting in many Spring 2009 brides, as well as some for the Fall of 2009. Our designers have created some beautiful gowns for the new collections. They are focusing on a more fitted silhouette. Something mermaid or modified a-line. The mermaid really allows the bride to show off her figure, while the modified a gives a bit of shape but still some fullness.

Details like lace and beading are still popular. We just received this AMAZING Priscilla of Boston gown! This dress is made of Gardenia Satin, so soft and yummy! The lace on the bodice is called Alencon. It is one of the two popular bridal laces. The difference between Alencon and Chantilly (the other traditional bridal lace) is that Alencon is corded, making it stand out a little bit more. I absolutely love the neckline on this dress! The slight sweetheart and gathered satin create lovely lines.

There are always so many ways to make a dress truly yours. For instance, it would be really fun to try that dress with a colored sash for the reception! A family broach is one way to get your something borrowed in as well :) And don't forget about your veil! A little veil (shorter than your elbow) would be great for a casual wedding. If you aren't into the whole veil thing, a feather accent would also look gorgeous.

I am always happy to give recommendations with style questions or any wedding questions for that matter! Drop me a line, call, or come by some day. I would love to chat.

Happy wedding planning!
